Crocheted Hoodie for Sock Monkey 

 

Materials 

Size 4 Yarn. 

Size G-6 4.00mm Crochet Hook. 

Around 65 Yards of Yarn. 

Yarn Needle. 

Stitch Markers. 

 

Vst = dc, ch 1, dc in same sp. 

 

Ch 3 counts as dc throughout the pattern. Vst counts as 3 sts. 

 

Body 

Rnd 1: Ch 38, place marker in 16th ch, join with sl st to form a ring, ch 3 (counts as first dc), Mark all Vsts, dec, dc in next ch, Vst, dec 5 times, Vst, dec, dc in next 3 ch, dec, Vst, dec 5 times, Vst, dec, dc in last ch. (32) 

Rnd 2-5: Join in top ch of ch 3, ch 3, dc in each dc, Vst in each ch 1 sp of Vst. (40) (48) (56) (64) 

Rnd 6: Join in top ch of ch 3, ch 3, dc in next 7 dc, folding the fabric together, dc through the 1st and 2nd Vst, dc in next 15 dc, folding the fabric together, dc through the 3rd and 4th Vst, dc in next 7 dc. (32) 

Rnd 7-12: Join in top ch of ch 3, ch 3, dc in each dc. (32) 

Rnd 13: Join in top of ch of ch 3, ch 2, hdc in each dc, join with sl st to first hdc, cut and pull yarn through, weave in end. (32) 

 

Sleeves 

Rnd 1: Going through both Vsts, join yarn with sl st, ch 3, dc in each dc, join with sl st in top ch of ch 3. (16) 

Rnd 2-11: Ch 3, dc in each dc, join with sl st in top ch of ch 3. (16) 

Rnd 12: Ch 2, hdc in each dc, join with Sl St to first hdc, cut and pull yarn through, weave in end. (16) 

 

Hood 

Row 1: Attach yarn at marker in foundation chain, Ch 3, dc in next 6 ch, 2 dc in next ch, dc in next 7 ch, 3 dc in next ch, dc in next 7 ch, 2 dc in next ch, dc in next 7 ch.(36) 

Row 2: Ch 3, turn, dc in next dc, dec, dc in next 30 dc, dec, dc in last dc. (34) 

Row 3: Ch 3, turn, dc in next dc, dec, dc in next 13 dc, 3 dc in next dc, dc in next 13 dc, dec, dc in last dc. (34) 

Row 4: Ch 3, turn, dc in next dc, dec, dc in next 27 dc, dec, dc in last dc. (32) 

Row 5-6: Ch 3, turn, dc in each dc. (32) 

Row 7: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 13 dc, dec twice, dc in next 14 dc. (30) 

Row 8: Ch 3, turn, dc in each dc. (30) 

Row 9: Ch 3, turn, sc in next 12 dc, dec twice, dc in next 13 dc. (28) 

Row 10: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 11 dc, dec twice, dc in next 12 dc, Do not fasten off, bring the hood forward, fold in half, sl st together, from front to back, turn right side out with sl sts on the inside of the hood, weave in end. 

 

Hood Trim 

Rnd 1: Join with sl st in any stitch along the body or hood, hdc in every stitch across Body, 2 hdc where the corners meet the hood, 2 hdc in every st of Hood, join with sl st, cut and pull yarn through, weave in end. 

 

Pocket 

Beginning with the top of Pocket, 

Row 1: Ch 9, dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in next 6 ch. (8) 

Row 2: Ch 3, turn, dc in first dc, dc in next 6 dc, 2 dc in last dc. (10) 

Row 3: Ch 3, turn, dc in first dc, dc in next 8 dc, 2 dc in last dc. (12) 

Row 4: Ch 3, turn, dc in first dc, dc in next 10 dc, 2 dc in last dc. (14) 

Row 5: Ch 3, turn, dc in first dc, dc in next 12 dc, 2 dc in last dc. (16) 

Row 6-8: Ch 3, turn, skip, the first dc, dc in next 15 dc, do not fasten off, you will work a row of hdc around the edge for trim. (16) 

 

Pocket Trim 

Rnd 1: Ch 2, 2 hdc in next 7 sts down the left side of the Pocket, 3 hdc in last st (17), going across the top work a hdc in each ch (24), continue to work 2 hdc in each st going down the other side of Pocket (40) hdc in each st across the bottom. (58) Connect in top of ch 2 sp with sl st, cut and pull yarn through, weave in end. 

 

Finishing 

Center and sew Pocket to the front of Body, leaving openings for Rows 1-4 on each side.
